Careers at envelope

About Envelope
Envelope is film and photography studio based in Lalitpur, Nepal, working across the Himalayas and beyond. We started in 2019 as a group of friends sharing a co-working space in Kathmandu: filmmakers, musicians, animators and photographers, each busy in our own corners.
We are a small team of misfits, and we like it that way. Everyone here shoots, edits, argues about stories and owns their work. Luckily, our work demands us to be endlessly curious about almost everything in the world. These days we are most inspired by human connections. If this sounds like your kind of place, read on.
The Role
As a Producer at Envelope, you will turn ideas into stories that actually get made. You will take projects from the first conversation to the final delivery, whether that is a documentary, a travel film, a brand campaign, an architectural series or a personal commission. You will be the link between our clients, collaborators and creative team, keeping shoots organised, people informed and stories on track. When things go off-script, which they will, you will be the calm one with a plan.
What you will be doing
• Being the main point of contact for clients and collaborators throughout each project. • Helping develop ideas: researching stories, locations and people, and shaping them into clear creative briefs. • Preparing quotes, budgets and proposals, and keeping track of contracts, payments and timelines. • Planning shoots: schedules, crew, equipment, travel, permits, access and logistics, in Nepal and abroad. • Coordinating with locations, contributors, local fixers and partners on the ground. • Managing post-production schedules with our editors and making sure every delivery is on time. • Helping find and develop new projects, partnerships and studio stories. • Gathering feedback after each project and helping us keep improving how we work.
What you will bring
• At least 2 years of experience in production, project management or coordination, ideally in film, photography, media or travel. • Excellent organisation and the ability to juggle several projects and deadlines at once. • Clear, warm and professional communication in Nepali and English, written and spoken. • Confidence handling budgets, negotiations and difficult conversations. • A genuine love of storytelling and an understanding of how film and photo shoots work. • Resourcefulness and calm problem-solving under pressure, especially on location. • Comfort with travel and flexible hours.
